An old time favorite of mine here in Fairfield. I was first introduced to this chain when I lived in San Diego. Known for its Fish Tacos, Rubio's is the ultimate go to spot for that beer battered fish tacos. This particular Rubio's is located outside of Solano Mall. Nice little spot. Very clean and organized. Not so busy, so salsa bar was stocked and fresh. Drink station well organized and stocked. Tables cleaned and ready for customers. On this particular day (all my days at Rubio's are identical) I ordered the classic shrimp burrito and original fish taco. This self made combo (Cabo Combo) is my go to meal here at Rubio's. The original fish taco is made with a deep fried fish portion with shredded cabbage and Rubio's special sauce (if you google Rubio's special sauce you will find it) in a corn tortilla. This taste much better with lime juice squeezed onto it. Now for the shrimp burrito, well i don't know what is all in it except of course shrimp, refried beans, rice and looks like the special sauce again. Anyway, that buggah is ono!! No matter what Rubio's you go to, you will not regret. I miss the place already. We don't have this in Hawai'i
I came back again today, 26 July 2018. I had the Wild Mahi Mahi and that was good as well. Thinking I prefer the Mango Mahi Mahi. The fish is yummy both times I had it. I like it so much, after I had my two I was debating to get another. Haha. I recommend.
Given the chance to eat at any fast food Mexican, fast casual Mexican, sit down Mexican, taco truck, whathaveyou, I'd choose Rubio's any day of the week and twice on Sundays! I LOVE their fish tacos!!! Today my tacos were STUFFED!! Huge fat pieces of perfectly fried fish. After I stuffed my face, I only wanted more! Very friendly staff here! Very clean restaurant!
NEW FAN OF RUBIO'S!!! I'm not sure why I never wanted to come here before but my goodness did I love it! A ton of seafood options which I love and the flavors are amazing. My favorite is the Salmon tacos. Everything they pair it with is amazing. Picture included and yes it tastes as good as it looks. Even the employees are nice. I'm recommending everyone to come here!
SO much better than the Rubio's in Vallejo. Service is always friendly, and they get the food up for order in 10 minutes or less. Restaurant is clean, bright, and the tables aren't painfully close together like Vallejo. Plus taco Tuesday deals make it so worth it. We love the fish taco especial, the ancho citrus grilled shrimp burrito, & the quinoa bowl with shrimp. Wouldn't recommend the CA burrito because the texture is a little dry, but overall great spot.
